Britain 4 Kiwi Kids - Enterprising Students Competition

Enterprising Students Week starts on Monday 3 Nov 2008. The British High Commission think this is a great idea and want to support creative young New Zealanders.

You can check out the Britain 4 Kiwi Kids website for more info.

Here's an overview of the competition they are running in conjunction with Enterprosing Students Week:

Enterprising Students Competition

It's fun to learn business skills and we think lots of you can come up with money-making ideas. But we want you to think about how you can use your creativity to help others. Why not explore your neighbourhood and identify people or issues that need help? Or, identify an environmental problem that needs solving? Get out and about and find out who needs help in your community!

We want teams of students of any age to come up with a business idea to help and develop a plan to make it happen. One-off events are fine but why not think about ways that link your school to the issue throughout the next year? Why not talk to local businesses or professionals to see if they can help too?

We're offering two $1,000 prizes to get the best enterprise ideas started:

  • $1,000 for the best social enterprise idea; and
  • $1,000 for to the best environmental idea.

The competition closes on Friday 7 November. The winners will be announced on Friday 21 November. The winning teams will be presented with their prize by the High Commissioner, or Deputy High Commissioner, before the end of this school year.
